still waiting

ummm, still waiting as of May 6, 2008...

Spunk, in an attempt to free me from my 6odd years of struggling, just gave me a book on the Holy Spirit. I was STRUCK by this quote by St. John of the Cross "What touches God's heart, and triumphs over it, is firm hope...God has such high esteem for the hope possessed by souls that are ceaselessly turned toward him and rely on him alone, that one can truly say that they obtain all that they hope for." Now, does anyone out there ever wonder as time S_T_R_E_T_C_H_E_S out whether what you hope for is ok?(especially if you feel like God set you up to hope it to begin with?) Like, reality and circumstances no longer look like you stand a chance of your hope being answered...and you wonder if God ever meant you to be where you are in your heart... People advise "Let go"...i would love for people to comment on what letting go of a hope means...i've got quite a number of steps i've tried...OBVIOUSLY, prayer to change your heart...getting out of circumstances that could lead to the hope being fulfilled so that if God takes you back, then you know it was Him...fasting...sigh...sometimes, I feel like i've examined myself and my motives soooo much, there's nothing left of me...interesting quote, though; one you can ponder and chew on...

I pray everyday in my Morning Offering for all those people who have been kind and generous to us (the Babetskis) in any way...which is ALOT of people...my kids were swimming as dusk came this evening in a neighbor's new pool...just laughing and enjoying summer like kids should be able to do because of my neighbor's generosity...so, i try NEVER to forget the little kindnesses that mean so much by praying that prayer every day...has anyone else seen the truck company i saw on the highway Weds.?...with the huge rainbow and other heavenly symbols on the side and in big letters underneath PSALM 20:5...Scripture on the highway...now, there's a blog i could do for hours...but, i won't until.......................................

summer

summer is kinda like a deep breath you let out reallllllll slow...graduation parties, wedding and baby showers, picnics at Lake Jean...good stuff...my favorite part of summer (besides hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill since we don't have one) is the color of the sky after the sun has set...let's say the last couple of minutes of dusk...and if you are lucky enough to have a pine tree on the horizon for contrast, better yet...add in wearing a sweatshirt with the sleeves pushed up ('cause that would mean it's cool out)...ok,ok, add in a s'more...alright, add in your kids laughing or singing or talking or playing...gee, how poetic will i wax when it's winter????

ummmm, ok, so here i am, a Catholic, reluctant homeschooler with 1 husband and 8 kids who I really enjoy...and 2 cats who i love...feel free to say hi...i have a VERY sympathetic heart towards moms of young adults and people who have lost their pet...bye!!!!
